MOT test stations in the BlackBox Auto network

An MOT needs a test station and a vehicle that gets there. Stations that join the network test cars, vans and light commercials; BlackBox Auto transports vehicles that cannot be driven, moves trade batches, and brings vehicles back after a fail for repair.

When you need one

How it works with BlackBox Auto

  1. You call BlackBox Auto. One number for the breakdown, the accident or the move. Tell us where the vehicle is and what has happened.
  2. We recover or dispatch. Our own trucks recover cars and vans. Where a specialist is the right answer, we arrange one and stay your point of contact.
  3. The partner does the work. Listed partners quote their own work to you before it starts. BlackBox Auto quotes the recovery or transport separately, so you always know who you are paying for what.

Questions

Can I drive to an MOT with an expired certificate?
The law allows driving to a pre-booked test, but not if the vehicle is unroadworthy. If it is not safe to drive, book transport instead.
Do you transport vehicles to MOT tests?
Yes. Single vehicles, non-runners and trade batches. The MOT transport page explains how it works and what it costs.
What happens if the vehicle fails?
We can move it to a garage in the network or one you choose, and bring it back for the retest.
